How to Download Instagram Stories
Downloading Instagram Stories with Laqta allows you to save public stories as photos or videos before they disappear after 24 hours. Anonymous Story Viewing and Downloading
One of the key advantages of Laqta's story downloader is anonymous access. When you view or download someone's Instagram stories through our tool, the account owner does not receive a view notification. Unlike the Instagram app, which shows story viewers to the account owner, Laqta does not identify you to Instagram in a way that registers your view.
This means you can browse and save stories from public accounts without appearing in their viewer list.
Instagram Stories vs Posts vs Reels
Instagram Stories are temporary posts that disappear after 24 hours, unlike feed posts and Reels which remain on a profile permanently. Stories appear at the top of the Instagram app in circular bubbles and can include photos, short videos, text overlays, stickers, polls, and interactive elements.

What Content Can You Save from Stories?
Instagram stories can contain photos (displayed for 5 seconds each) and short videos (up to 15 seconds per clip). Laqta downloads both types of content — photos as JPG files and videos as MP4 files — in the quality Instagram provides.
Note that interactive story elements like polls, quizzes, question stickers, and swipe-up links are part of the Instagram interface, not the image or video itself, so they will not appear in downloaded files. You will get the underlying photo or video.
Download Stories on iPhone
To download Instagram stories on iPhone, open Safari and go to Laqta's story downloader. Enter the username of the public account whose stories you want to save. When the active stories appear, tap on any story to open it, then tap the download button to save it to your Files app or Photos.
Story videos are saved as MP4 files and story photos as JPG files, both of which are fully compatible with iOS.
Download Stories on Android
On Android, use Chrome or any browser to access Laqta. Enter the public account username, browse their active stories, and tap the download button for any story you want to save. Files download to your Android device's Downloads folder and can be viewed in your gallery.
The process is fast and works identically to downloading other Instagram content types.
Can You Download Stories from Private Accounts?
Laqta's story downloader only works with public Instagram accounts. Private account stories are not accessible without following the account and authenticating through Instagram, which our tool does not do. This is a privacy-respecting limitation.
For private accounts you follow, you can use Instagram's built-in story saving features (like taking a screenshot for photos, or using the Save option where available within the app).
