The useful details
What to know.
Use the preview and file checks below to avoid saving the wrong picture or a video cover.
Choose a picture in a carousel
The post link represents the entire carousel, not necessarily the slide visible when you copied it. Compare the returned thumbnails. Photo numbers follow the returned items; if Instagram omits an item, a number is not a guarantee of the original slide position.
Distinguish a photo from a video cover
Download photo belongs to an image card. Save cover belongs to a video card and saves its still preview. The two can look similar but do not necessarily represent the same original image; choose the preview that matches your purpose.
Check the format if an image will not open
An available image may be saved as JPEG, PNG, WebP or another supported type. If the default viewer cannot open it, use a viewer compatible with the downloaded format. Laqta serves the available file; it does not include an image converter.
Check the dimensions
Open the saved image’s file information or properties on your device to see its dimensions when available. Instagram may return a different size or format from the creator’s original upload; downloading it again cannot guarantee the original resolution.
If the expected image is missing
Confirm the post is public, recopy the individual link and reload the results. If a source has expired, loading the post again may provide a fresh link. A restricted or omitted image cannot be recovered by changing its filename.
If the file is not in Photos or Gallery
Look in the browser Downloads list or the device Files app. A browser may save a file to Downloads without adding it to a photo library; the exact folder and available sharing controls depend on your settings.
Before reusing the image
A public photo is not automatically licensed for reuse. Save only media you are entitled to keep and obtain permission where necessary before publishing or using someone else’s work.
